By supporting Umang, you're backing an organisation focused on improving the lives and livelihoods of marginalised farming communities negatively impacted by the degradation of fragile ecosystems in the Himalaya. The establishment of on-farm and off-farm pro-poor business ventures run primarily by hill women of the Kumaon region, is helping to improve food security, economic security, and check out-migration in the region. The primary shareholders of Umang are members of Self Help Groups located in over 200 tiny hamlets spread across the Gagas and Kosi river basins. These SHGs form the bedrock of livelihood development and sustainable change in the region. Why We Like It

While readily available, most preserves and jams that you get is loaded with added flavour and preservatives. Unlike the conventional products available in the market, the fruits in this jam are naturally grown, and are, wherever possible sourced directly from micro-farmers.  We also love that Umang  is run by a woman-only unit where women from the local Himalayan community are employed and trained in order to build their capacity and better their chances of employability.
