Partner story:
To provide for their families, women in urban slums often have to give up on their skills in designing, tailoring and art. Kriti Kala is empowering several such families in Hyderabad and providing them with a platform to showcase their artistic talents. The women are trained in hand embroidery as well as financial literacy and armed with an opportunity to uplift themselves.

These useful skills give them access to a social and occupational network. It enables them to develop a sustainable livelihood in a safe environment, improves their quality of life, and builds a sense of agency.

Your impact:

Why we like it:
Even as we follow a mundane lifestyle, many brilliant ideas strike us once in a while. They could be anything artistic, entrepreneurial or notes to self. We all could use a personal journal to jot down these amazing ideas and we at TBI love this Kriti Kala journal for its rustic, traditional look and because it gives us hundreds of pages to fill with our silly, mediocre and brilliant thoughts!

Tanvi says:
It is usually during the oddest hours that the fantastic ideas strike me just when I am on the verge of falling asleep, when I am on my way to work or while cooking. As is the case with most people, I have forgotten them by the time I sit down to work on them. A journal like this could help me capture the ideas. And even if I dont work on them immediately, perhaps in the future when I go back to reading them, they will help me smile. (Also, I deeply love diaries and I have a shelf full of beautiful but empty diaries just waiting to be used!)
