Your Impact

The team behind this product collaborates sustainability and design thinking to generate ideas to create conscious handmade products made out of recycled, reused, upcycled materials such as bamboo, fabric, clay, paper that maintains a balance between ecology and Human activity. They also ensure employment opportunities to the financially underprivileged and the uniquely-abled communities.

Why We Like It

Chatur Chidiya was started with a green business philosophy: to contribute positively to the environment and society through business. Its vision is dictated by eco-conscious design which means all its products are made from locally available, indigenous material such as bamboo, clay, paper and wood. The focus is on using upcycled, recycled or reusable material as much as possible. Chatur Chidiya's products are all handcrafted by artisans from socio-economically underprivileged communities, giving them a chance at a better life. Chatur Chidiya identifies skilled artisans in Gujarat - potters, weavers, embroidery artistes and rural youth. With design inputs and skill training, the artisans learn to make innovative, durable and contemporary products that will find a market all year-round instead of just during festivals. The aim is to create a growing ecosystem of successful, flourishing artisans. When others from the community witness an artisan's steady and growing progress, they too join the programme and get themselves upskilled.
