What's more, Himalayan Haat is committed to driving socioeconomic change in the region with its work. Towards this end, it trains and employs local women in processes like harvesting, cutting, chopping, canning and packaging of its products. The aim is to help them become financially independent while enabling them to create gourmet, beautifully packaged products that they can be incredibly proud of. Another mission is to revive natural farming practises among the local community by making it viable for locals to grow local crops by buying naturally grown produce from them at good prices.
